Mothers...and Being a Mom.

kids finally say what they really think about mom

Saw this video a number of times, and every time, it just gets me. It gets me teary eyed and feeling sappy.

The first question or task was for mothers to describe how they are as a mother. The first woman responded with "I have my doubts about my abilities." Another said, "I wish I were more confident in being a mom". 

The next step was for moms to come in to watch what their kids said about them...

The children shared lines like "she's awesome..she's unique., "She's pretty.. She's beautiful.", "She's like my heart, you can say, because she's that close to me". The one comment highlighted in the video that touched the "cry now" button was "She is my hero."

Every mom needs to watch it. We are all so caught up in the "what can i do better" without realizing or remembering we are our the first people our kids look up to and appreciate- no matter what we think our shortcomings are.

There are times when When my oldest son tells me I'm beautiful after I am done getting ready without any prompts from his father, or when my youngest son places his head on my shoulder and then kisses me without being asked. These are the moments I forget my doubts and am reminded that these kids love me-and that all that matters.
