Trip!

Parkside-Garlic Fries YUM!

I came back on island a week and a half ago. I attended a conference in Austin, TX where I was able to spend time with one of my best friends. My hotel was on 6th street. All I can say is all the bars/pubs looked invtiting and had thier own personalities, but unfortunately, I had to stick to the restaurants because I cant drink. Boo. But the food was delish! I was also able to throw in some 'tourist time'. Aside from exploring 6th street the saturday of Halloween (all the college kids were decked out in costume), we ate at a few restaurants, checked out some mexican art murals and some historical sites.

We went to the Capitol building which is a restored historical building of the confederacy. It's pretty cool to me considering I used to work at the local legislature. The session hall in this building was AMAZING! I know many won't agree, but I like seeing learning about history.

After Texas, I left to San Francisco. It was a family-filled visit. My aunt had literally, just given birth to her first child. I was honored to be the first to meet her :). My uncle came down to visit me from San Jose with his two sons and his wife. Lastly, I had the opportunity to meet up with my brother in law, his wife and thier son. This was the first time I met my nephew :). Highlight: In and Out Burger and Fires (animal style!)

Last stop on my way back home was at 20 hour layover in the beautiful Hawaii. I met my sister in law's boyfriend. They picked me up from the airport, housed me for the night. The next day, my sister in law brought me around for breakfast (Red Velvet Pancakes :)) and last minute shopping. I scored a few nice digs from Forever 21 :).
All fun aside and done, I just was so homesick. I was so happy to see my plane and was ready to be on a long flight home :)
